Who we are

Bounce Party is made by Parallax Interactive, LLC (“PrllxLabs”, “we”, “us”). We are the controller of the personal data described here.

  • Address: 12100 Wilshire Blvd Ste 800 PMB 17071305, Los Angeles, CA 90025-7140, United States
  • Privacy questions: help@prllxlabs.com

This policy covers the Bounce Party app for iPhone and Android, the Bounce Party edition for Steam, and this website.

What we collect and why

Your account

The first time you open the game, it creates an anonymous account for you with Firebase Authentication, a Google service. The account is a random user ID; it holds no name or email address. When the app signs in, Firebase also processes your IP address and basic information about your device and app, to provide the service and protect it against abuse.

Why: to give every player an account without asking you to sign up, and to keep it secure.

Signing in with Apple or Google (optional)

In Settings you can sign in with Apple (on iPhone and iPad) or with Google. This links your anonymous account to that sign-in, and Firebase Authentication then stores:

  • the user ID that Apple or Google gives our app for your account;
  • the email address the provider shares. Apple lets you hide your real email address, in which case we receive a private relay address created by Apple;
  • your name, if the provider shares it.

Why: to link your player account to an account you control. We never see your password, and we don't post anything to your Apple or Google account.

If you sign out, the game starts a new anonymous account on that device.

Your game progress stays on your device

Your coins, level, unlocked cities, settings (such as sound and haptics), your avatar, your daily cup and sprint entries, and timers such as free coins and video limits are stored only on your device. There is no game server, and we don't receive your progress, including when you sign in.

Rivals in the cups are simulated on your device. There are no usernames, public profiles or chat, and no other player can see you.

Your device's own backup (iCloud, or your Google account's Android backup) may include the game's data, under Apple's or Google's terms. Uninstalling the game, resetting your progress in Settings or deleting your account removes the progress from the device.

Gameplay analytics

We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the game is played. It collects:

  • events about your play: each round you finish (which game and city, whether you made a call, and the multiplier it reached), each city you unlock, finishing the tutorial, and signing in with Apple or Google (only which of the two);
  • events the Firebase SDK records on its own, such as the first time you open the app, sessions, screens viewed, time spent in the app and, because the ads come from Google AdMob, ad impressions and rewards;
  • a random app-instance ID that Firebase creates for your installation;
  • your device model, operating system and version, app version and language;
  • your approximate location (country, region or city), which Google derives from your IP address. Google says that Analytics does not log or store the IP address itself.

Analytics events are tied to the app-instance ID, not to your name or email.

Consent: in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, and in other places where the law requires it, Google Analytics is switched off until you agree in Google's consent form, and nothing is sent before that. It only switches on if you agree to information being stored on your device and to Google as a partner; otherwise it stays off. Your answers are also passed to Google's SDKs as consent signals (Google consent mode): whether analytics data may be stored, and whether data may be used for ads and ad personalisation. You can change your answers at any time in the game's Settings → Privacy choices.

Why: to see how the game is played and where players get stuck, to balance the coin economy and the games, to improve the tutorial and to measure how ads perform.

Crash reports

If the game crashes or hits a serious error, Firebase Crashlytics sends us a crash report: the stack trace (where in the code it failed), your device model, operating system version, app version, basic device state at the time of the crash (such as free memory and orientation), and a random Crashlytics installation ID.

Consent: in the same places where Google Analytics needs your consent, Crashlytics is also switched off until you agree in the consent form, under the same conditions. Elsewhere it is on, so that we learn about crashes.

Why: to find and fix bugs.

This website

This website is hosted on Amazon Web Services (Amazon CloudFront), which processes your IP address to deliver the pages to you. We don't keep access logs of who visits.

Google Analytics, only if you accept: the first time you visit, a banner asks whether we may use Google Analytics. Until you press Accept, nothing from Google loads. If you accept, Google Analytics counts visits and the pages you view, with your device, browser, language and approximate location (which Google derives from your IP address without storing it), and sets two cookies on this site, _ga and _ga_*, which expire after 6 months. Google signals and ad personalisation are off, and the data is not linked to your account in the game. Your answer is kept only in your browser (its local storage), not in a cookie and not sent to us. You can change it at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page; if you reject after accepting, the cookies are deleted.

Why: to know how many people visit the site and which pages they read.

Bounce Party on Steam

The Bounce Party edition for Steam (on computers and Steam Deck) has no account, no analytics, no crash reports and no ads, and it doesn't send us anything. Your progress and settings are stored only on your computer. Steam is run by Valve Corporation, which processes data about your Steam account and your play under its own privacy policy. If we add Steam features such as achievements or leaderboards, we will update this policy first.

What we don't collect

  • No payment information: the game has no in-app purchases.
  • No chat, messages or user-generated content.
  • No precise location (GPS).
  • No access to your contacts, photos, camera or microphone.

Advertising

The game shows video ads from Google AdMob: rewarded videos that you choose to watch (for example, for bonus coins or a faster speed) and full-screen videos between rounds or when you go back to the lobby.

When an ad is requested or shown, Google may collect:

  • your device's advertising identifier: on iPhone and iPad, the IDFA, only if you allow the app to track you when iOS asks (App Tracking Transparency); on Android, the Android advertising ID;
  • your IP address;
  • information about your device and about how you interact with the ads.

Google uses this to deliver and measure ads and to prevent fraud and, only if you agree where consent is required, to show you personalised ads. If you don't agree, you still see ads, but they aren't personalised. Google acts as an independent controller for some of this processing; see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

Your ad and privacy choices

  • Consent form: in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, and wherever the law requires it, the game shows Google's consent form (Google's User Messaging Platform) before personalised ads, analytics or crash reports are used. You can change your choices at any time in the game's Settings → Privacy choices.
  • iPhone and iPad: you can allow or stop tracking in the iOS Settings app, under Privacy & Security → Tracking.
  • Android: you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device's settings (usually Settings → Google → Ads, or Settings → Privacy → Ads).

Under the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation, we rely on:

Consent (Art. 6(1)(a))Google Analytics for Firebase and Crashlytics where the law requires consent; Google Analytics on this website; personalised ads; storing or reading information on your device for ads where the law requires consent; and, on iPhone and iPad, the use of the IDFA. You can withdraw your consent at any time in Settings → Privacy choices, in iOS Settings for tracking, or with Cookie settings on this website.
Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f))Crash reports and Google Analytics for Firebase where consent is not required; showing non-personalised ads, measuring them and preventing ad fraud, which keeps the game free; keeping accounts secure. We may also disclose data when the law requires it, or to protect our players, our rights or the safety of others. If Parallax Interactive, LLC is ever merged or sold, your data may be transferred to the new owner, who will have to respect this policy.

We don't sell your personal data for money.

International transfers

Google, Apple and Amazon process data in the United States and in other countries outside the European Economic Area. For these transfers we rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework for companies certified under it, such as Google LLC and Amazon Web Services, and on the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission that are part of the providers' data processing terms. You can ask us for a copy of these safeguards at help@prllxlabs.com.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • access your data and get a copy of it;
  • correct data that is wrong;
  • delete your data;
  • take your data with you (portability);
  • object to processing based on our legitimate interests;
  • restrict processing in some cases;
  • withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting what was done before.

To use any of these rights, write to help@prllxlabs.com. If you signed in with Apple or Google, tell us the email address of that account, so we can find it; we may ask you to confirm that the account is yours. Analytics data and crash reports are tied to random installation IDs rather than to your account, so we usually can't single them out from an email request. We answer within one month; if a request is complex, we may need up to two more months and will tell you why.

In the game you can delete your account yourself (Settings → Account → Delete account) and change your consent choices (Settings → Privacy choices).

If you think we have not handled your data properly, you can complain to the data protection authority of the country where you live or work, or where you think the problem happened. In the United Kingdom, that is the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). We'd appreciate the chance to sort it out with you first.

Extra information for some regions

California and other US states

In the last 12 months we collected these categories of personal information: identifiers (the anonymous user ID, the app-instance and Crashlytics installation IDs, advertising identifiers, IP address, and, if you sign in, the Apple or Google user ID, email address and name), internet or other electronic network activity (gameplay analytics and ad interactions), and approximate location derived from your IP address. We collect them from you, your device and, if you sign in, Apple or Google, for the purposes described in this policy, and we disclose them to the service providers listed above.

We don't sell personal information for money. However, when personalised ads are allowed, Google's use of your advertising identifier and ad interactions may count as “selling” or “sharing” for cross-context behavioural advertising under some state laws. To opt out, turn off personalised ads in Settings → Privacy choices where it is offered, and limit ad tracking on your device (on iPhone and iPad, don't allow tracking; on Android, delete your advertising ID). We don't knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16. We don't use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that would give you a right to limit it.

Depending on your state, you have the right to know and access your data, correct it, delete it, and opt out of its sale or sharing and of targeted advertising. Contact us at help@prllxlabs.com; an authorised agent can also do it for you. We will verify your request and won't treat you differently for using your rights.

Canada (including Québec)

You can ask to access or correct your data and withdraw your consent, subject to legal limits. The person in charge of the protection of personal information can be reached at help@prllxlabs.com. Your data is stored and processed outside Canada, mainly in the United States. You can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or, in Québec, to the Commission d'accès à l'information.

Australia

We handle your data in line with the Australian Privacy Principles. Your data is held outside Australia, mainly in the United States. You can ask to access or correct it. If you're not happy with how we handle a complaint, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

New Zealand

Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can ask to access and correct your data. If you're not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.

Philippines

Under the Data Privacy Act of 2012 you have the right to be informed, to access, object, correct, erase or block your data, to data portability, and to file a complaint with the National Privacy Commission.

Brazil

Under the LGPD you can ask us to confirm that we process your data, access it, correct it, anonymise, block or delete unnecessary data, move it to another provider, learn who we share it with, and withdraw your consent. You can also complain to the National Data Protection Authority (ANPD). Contact us at help@prllxlabs.com.

Children

Bounce Party is not directed to children. It is not meant for children under 13, or under the age of digital consent where you live if that is higher (up to 16 in the European Economic Area), and the minimum age shown in the app stores may be higher still; if it is, that age applies. We don't knowingly collect personal data from children under these ages. If you believe a child has used the game and given us personal data, contact us at help@prllxlabs.com and we will delete it.

Security

The app talks to Google's and Apple's services over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). Your game progress stays in the game's private storage on your device. Access to our Firebase project is limited to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach affects your data we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the game processes personal data, we will update this policy before the change applies. The effective date at the top always shows the current version. If a change is important, we will also tell you in the game or on this website.
